Psychology at Providence College

Why Study Psychology at Providence College?
At Providence College, our psychology students don’t just learn. They do. Our program is designed to provide not only a thorough and sound foundation in the principles of the discipline, but many and varied opportunities to apply that knowledge through independent and collaborative research.

Our approach to the discipline is aligned with other sciences and anchored in rational discourse and empirical research methods, with the goal of understanding the biological, developmental, socio-cultural, and individual aspects of behavior in order to reduce human pain and suffering, redress social injustice, and enrich the human condition. Our students graduate with the knowledge, skills, and experience to excel in graduate study or in a wide variety of careers, from human services to research, business, government, education, and many others.
